Matt O’Keefe is entering his 21st year as a PGA Master Professional in Coaching and Teaching—one of only 184 worldwide, and the only active Master Professional coach in the Tampa Bay area. A proud PGA award winner and dedicated member of both the North Florida PGA Section and the PGA of America, Matt brings passion, precision, and decades of expertise to every lesson.
Originally from Kentucky, Matt now proudly calls Largo, Florida home. He attended the University of Tampa on a full ROTC scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 1991. After passing the rigorous 36-hole PGA Playing Ability Test on his first attempt, he turned professional in 1996 and became a Class “A” PGA Member in 1999. Matt went on to achieve PGA Certified Professional status in Instruction in 2004 and earned the prestigious PGA Master Professional designation in Coaching & Teaching the following year.
Known for his ability to connect with students in both individual and group settings, Matt tailors his coaching to each player’s unique goals and abilities. His personalized approach, combined with decades of technical expertise and a deep love for the game, helps golfers of all levels play with greater confidence, consistency, and enjoyment.
